Useful UI

-development that’s useful for everyone.

-development where it’s needed most.

Let’s build something better... for the better.

What I do

I’m a Front End UI Developer with a passion for writing clear, polished, code for user-friendly design implementations. With a focus on HTML5 and CSS3, with JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress, I utilize the latest technologies and practices towards responsiveness, browser support, and accessibility for the target audience.

My skill-set:

I employ the freshest trends for responsive-design using tools like Flexbox and CSS Grid. I have a heart for encouraging the most accessible implementations available for end-user support, with efficient load times and image rendering. I aim for reusable and maintainable code using Sass, BEM, and easy-to-understand CSS architectures.

I'm also working towards Full-Stack Application Development both within and without CMS environments, and love to get my hands dirty trying to solve tough problems.

Who I am

I spent my childhood on Central Florida’s space coast, in NASA’s backyard, where my parents were always involved with the quickly-evolving tech climate of the 80’s and 90’s. We later moved to rural Costa Rica where we homesteaded the land, and I learned with my father how to help solve problems of off-grid self-sufficiency for ourselves and many others throughout the country, through creatively developed means for electricity and water access in some of the most secluded areas.

This has given me some perspective to think critically and embrace curiosity, always excited to jump right in and solve problems others often hesitate to tackle. I put my own integrity and work ethic at the forefront of every project, and sympathize strongly with those who are less fortunate among us, striving to use my skills to their betterment. With my lovely wife and three children we have enjoyed many noteworthy adventures in our time together, and we don’t expect to slow down any time soon!

… I also enjoy pondering the philosophies and ethics of our lives together, fly fishing, foraging for mushrooms and other wild edibles, song-writing and playing music on anything with strings; big trees, cold nights, warm fires, and a well-brewed pint.
